What you will do:

• Undertake casework with children in care, ensuring all statutory requirements are fulfilled.
• Complete and maintain high-quality assessments, care plans and reviews in line with legislation and council procedures.
• Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with children, young people, carers, and families to ensure their voices are heard and central to decision-making.
• Liaise with foster carers, residential workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to ensure the holistic wellbeing of each child.
• Prepare court statements and attend court as necessary.
• Contribute to the team’s reflective practice and service improvement initiatives.
• Participate in regular supervision and performance reviews to ensure personal and professional development.

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
• Proven experience in statutory children’s social work, preferably within a Looked After Children or Children in Care team.
• Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989, related legislation, and statutory guidance.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload and prioritise effectively under pressure.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
