Distribution Centre Shift Supervisor

Location: Kettering

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am- 5pm, Sunday 6.30am - 2.30pm

Salary: £31,000 to £34,000 per annum

Role Overview: 

The Distribution Centre Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Distribution Centre Duty Manager, is accountable for overseeing the entire site's operations, including security. This role involves managing stock accuracy, conducting audits, handling Dangerous Goods, and supporting the integration of Artificial Intelligence processes. You will be focusing on ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while enhancing inventory control and reporting precision. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires adapting to meet operational demands, including both scheduled and unforeseen events.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Manage stock accuracy across WMS & ERP systems
  • Conduct reconciliations, cycle counts & full audits
  • Monitor inventory KPIs & drive corrective actions

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, H&S standards & industry regulations
  • Oversee DG handling, storage and transport compliance
  • Lead internal audits and support site-wide compliance initiatives

AI Integration & Process Optimisation

  • Support implementation of AI-driven inventory solutions
  • Collaborate with IT/ops teams on process automation
  • Identify and execute opportunities for operational improvements

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and support DC Team Leaders and staff to ensure efficient site ops
  • Deliver training on stock control, process improvement, H&S, equipment use and policies
  • Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in inventory management, audits, and stock control; strong collaboration with sales/admin teams
  • Solid understanding of DG handling and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with AI-driven inventory tools and warehouse optimisation strategies
  • Strong leadership, team management, and people development capabilities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in WMS, ERP platforms, and conducting compliance audits
