What you will do:
- Carry out the statutory duties of the Directorate in relation to Adults, following Directorate policies and procedures.
- Manage a caseload under the supervision of a Team Manager.
- Perform social work tasks, collaborating closely with other professionals to assess the needs of adults and deliver tailored care packages.
- Develop expertise in working with older individuals, those with mental health needs, and people with physical disabilities.
- Work collaboratively with team members and extend support where necessary.
- Develop special interests in line with demand and service priorities.
- Establish and nurture connections with statutory bodies, voluntary organisations, and community groups.
- Participate in the duty system during office hours on a rota basis.
- Tackle additional duties as needed, in line with the post’s grading.
- Employ information technology applications effectively to input, record, and access information, facilitating effective communication.
The postholder must comply with the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy and Strategy, Information Security Policies, Financial Regulations and Standing Orders, and Health and Safety at Work legislation as applicable. Responsibilities are non-exhaustive and other duties may be assigned without altering the job's general nature.
Essential:
- Willingness to enhance qualifications and undertake relevant training.
- Experience in social work intervention, assessment, and care planning.
- Knowledge of current legislation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in using IT applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting and adapt to changing practices.
