We are seeking a visionary Social Worker Team Manager for our Children with Disabilities Team in a vibrant borough in North East London. This permanent, full-time position offers a fantastic salary of £66,159 annually. What you will do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of six social workers with the support of a Practice Manager, fostering a culture of excellence and responsiveness.
  • Manage complex court cases, including child protection work, Public Law Outline (PLO) processes, transitions, and services for children in need.
  • Develop and manage services to support families and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Represent the Head of Service at key meetings and maintain strong relationships with community groups and other agencies.
  • Prepare and oversee the creation of complex public law reports for childcare court proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and procedural standards, maintaining high service quality for children and families.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and service development, ensuring that delivery is efficient, effective, and within budget.


Requirements:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant operational experience in a social care setting, with proven skills in managing change and influencing service provision.
  • Strong decision-making abilities, particularly in public law childcare proceedings.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop strategic visions and form effective partnerships.
  • A thorough understanding of the legislative framework for children's services and budgetary control principles.
