Industrial Safety Manager in Leiston, East Of England

VGC Group Lowestoft are delighted to be recruiting for an Industrial Safety Manager on behalf of our client based in Leiston, Suffolk.

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.

Role overview:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Industrial Safety Director and the Site Leadership Team to contribute to the development of plans and strategies to improve performance and manage risks related to the site. They shall have responsibility for the collation of monthly reports and policy/guidance/operating procedure development to support operational delivery of all health and safety programmes. To ensure that the site under their responsibility operate to the highest standards of health and safety management through being responsible for the delivery of the BU SAFETY strategy and through engagement at all levels to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of a positive SAFETY culture.
They will support RCA incident investigations; Ensuring sites are supported in the prompt closure of all actions related to these incidents.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL-
*NEBOSH Diploma
*ISO9001 Internal Auditor Training
*ISO14001 Internal Auditor Training and/or Environmental foundation management certification (IEMA/NEBOSH Equivalent)
*Related work experience, including application of health and safety principles and practice in a waste/recycling, engineering, construction, industrial or logistics environment.
*Working knowledge of UK and EU safety and environmental regulations
*Working knowledge & management of ISO45001,9001,14001 standards
DESIRABLE-
*Work experience in high safety risk work sites
*Work experience in radiological / nuclear environments
