What you will do:

  • Triage and assess safeguarding concerns and referrals, ensuring adherence to the Care Act 2014 and local multi-agency procedures
  • Undertake Section 42 enquiries, coordinating robust safeguarding planning with relevant professionals
  • Manage complex safeguarding cases, addressing issues such as self-neglect, domestic abuse, and financial exploitation
  • Handle general enquiries and referrals, offering guidance and deciding on necessary further interventions
  • Keep accurate records and produce reports in line with statutory requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with partners such as police, health, housing, advocacy, and voluntary services
  • Manage a high-volume case load effectively, prioritising tasks to meet competing demands
  • Provide support and informal supervision to less experienced team members, sharing your safeguarding expertise


Person Specification:
Essential:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
  • Minimum of 2-3 years post-qualifying experience, specialising in adult safeguarding
  • Strong familiarity with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding frameworks
  • Proven track record in conducting safeguarding enquiries and applying strength-based approaches
  • Experience in fast-paced, front-line environments with the ability to handle pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and ICT proficiency


Desirable:

  • Experience within local authority contact/referral settings
  • Training in areas such as investigative interviewing or domestic abuse
  • Knowledge of local safeguarding boards and policies
