What you will do:
- Provide specialised clinical services with responsibility for a caseload of children with developmental speech and language delays or communication difficulties.
- Collaborate closely with parents, school staff, and professionals to support children in accessing age-relevant curriculum and developing communication skills.
- Assess individual needs and develop tailored Speech and Language Therapy interventions for referred children.
- Offer advice and guidance to peers regarding management and care strategies for communication or swallowing difficulties.
- Engage with professionals and contribute to statutory assessments and EHCPs in line with legal SEND responsibilities.
- Provide line management and supervision to less experienced therapists and students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Deliver training sessions to diverse audiences, including parents and educational staff, enhancing knowledge and understanding of communication challenges.
- Develop specialist skills within particular clinical areas to effectively manage a varied caseload.
This role requires HCPC registration, and a minimum of two years’ experience in paediatric speech and language therapy is essential. Although not mandatory, having a valid driver's licence would be advantageous for accessing various settings within the locality.
