Job Title: Infection Prevention and Control Nurse

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £42,000 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the surveillance, prevention, and control of infection within the hospital setting.

  • Promote and maintain high standards of infection prevention and control practices to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality care for all patients.

  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, displaying excellent communication skills.


What You’ll Bring

  • Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse with a degree-level education or equivalent experience.

    • Current NMC registration.

    • Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent experience.

    • Evidence of recent infection prevention and control practice updates.

    • Desirable: Infection Prevention and Control Course qualification.

  • Experience:

    • Essential:

      • Recent experience as a registered nurse in an acute surgical care environment.

      • Experience and knowledge of infection prevention and control at ward or departmental level.

    • Desirable:

      • Experience with surgical site surveillance and tissue viability knowledge.

      • Knowledge of audit and surveillance, including Surgical Site Infection Surveillance Service (SSISS).

      • Familiarity with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and report writing skills.

      • Experience in policy and procedure writing.
