What you will do:

  • Serve as a key worker for several residents, ensuring their individual needs and preferences are met with compassion and professionalism.
  • Assist residents with admission, helping them settle comfortably into the home environment.
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, bathing, dressing, and toilet needs, always respecting the privacy and dignity of the residents.
  • Engage residents in social activities, stimulating interactions, and moments of joy throughout the day.
  • Facilitate daily routines, such as helping residents dress and maintain essential aids like dentures, hearing aids, and spectacles.
  • Support rehabilitation activities in collaboration with the nursing staff, encouraging residents in their recovery and daily living skills.
  • Assist in meal service operations, monitor food and fluid intake, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in dining areas, ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment.
  • Respond efficiently to call bells and provide timely assistance as required.
  • Communicate any significant changes in resident conditions to the Nurse-In-Charge, promoting vigilant and responsive care.
  • Ensure your own safety and that of others by adhering to health, safety, and fire procedures.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, mandatory training, and adhere to all policies and best practices.


We are looking for candidates with a genuine interest in working with older adults, who are friendly, approachable, and patient. An understanding of person-centred care is essential, with effective communication skills a must. If you have previous experience in a care setting or relevant qualifications, it would be an added advantage.
