This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join the Blood Sciences Laboratory at Hinchingbrooke Hospital as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, Band 6. We are seeking someone with substantial experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion, preferably with multi-disciplinary skills including Biochemistry. A commitment to quality and accuracy is essential in this dynamic role. Experience with WinPath Enterprise - Laboratory Information System, Grifols Eflexis - Blood Transfusion analysers, Sysmex full blood count analysers, and Sysmex coagulation analysers is highly desirable.

What you will do:

• Conduct complex tests in haematology and blood transfusion with precision.
• Ensure the laboratory operates effectively by overseeing quality control and maintenance for equipment such as Sysmex analysers.
• Interpret test results and provide insights to support clinical decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
• Participate actively in the ongoing development and improvement of laboratory processes.

Requirements: Candidates must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC and should have at least two years of experience in haematology and blood transfusion. Being a car driver is preferable but not essential, as you may be required to travel between sites.
