What you will do

• Conduct specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and deliver targeted interventions for children and young people.
• Independently manage a complex paediatric caseload across a range of community settings.
• Develop, implement, and review tailored therapy programmes and packages of care.
• Support children experiencing functional, sensory, developmental, and motor difficulties.
• Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessments and provide detailed professional reports.
• Deliver advice, guidance, and training to parents, carers, schools, and educational staff.
• Work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Paediatricians, teachers, and other professionals.
• Promote independence, participation, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records using SystmOne.
• Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.

Requirements

• Professional Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Paediatric Experience: Previous experience working within paediatric Occupational Therapy services.
• EHCP Knowledge: Experience contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan assessments and reports.
• Community Experience: Ability to work across a range of community settings, including schools and family homes.
• Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical reasoning abilities.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, report-writing, and partnership-working skills.
• IT Skills: Experience using electronic record systems, ideally SystmOne.
