Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
- Deliver targeted speech and language therapy for young adults with diverse communication needs.
- Maintain high professional standards through ongoing CPD and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide training to colleagues, professionals, and education staff.
- Conduct both formal and informal assessments to design effective therapy programmes with SMART targets.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring planned, engaging, and well‑structured interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to embed communication strategies within classroom environments.
- Evaluate therapy outcomes and prepare accessible resources for departmental use.
- Produce detailed reports for annual reviews and maintain accurate documentation aligned with professional standards.
- Offer specialist advice to parents, carers, and professionals.
- Participate actively in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to creative and collaborative therapy approaches.
- Lead workshops and training sessions as required.
Requirements / Candidate Criteria
Essential
- HCPC registration.
- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Experience working with young adults or educational settings.
- Strong assessment, planning, and report‑writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Additional specialist training in communication approaches or therapy tools.
- Prior experience within community or post‑16 education environments.
