Head of Operations – “National Travel”

Salary:                 £65,000 - £75,000+

I am working with a fast-growing fitness brand with sites stretching across England, Scotland and Wales with more about to open. They have fresh backing and the plan is to double the business in the next 12 to 24 months, and we’re looking for the operator who will help make that happen.

Role

• Run a consistent, repeatable operating model across a fast-growing multi-site estate
• Own the new-site opening process, from pre-opening readiness through to a smooth launch
• Set clear standards, KPIs and accountability, and hold regional and site managers to them
• Manage lean staffing, rotas and labour efficiency across low-touch sites
• Keep health and safety, compliance and member experience at a high standard
• Handle member complaints and escalations calmly, and resolve them at the right level

• Drive site performance across membership, retention and profitability
• Manage budgets and costs tightly, keeping a high-volume, low-cost model efficient as it scales
• Use data and reporting to spot underperformance early and act on it
• Build the operational case for each new opening and make sure each site hits its targets
• Make sound, fast commercial decisions in a business that is growing quickly

About you

• Proven multi-site operations leadership, ideally from quick-service restaurants, pubs or other high-volume hospitality (a fitness background isn’t required)
• Strong people manager and natural delegator, with the discipline to keep standards consistent across a growing estate
• Comfortable with fast-paced openings, young teams, high staff turnover and member feedback
• Organised, motivated and confident under pressure
• Able to stay out of the weeds and focus on results through others.
