Job Details:

• Pay: £80,000 - £85,000 per annum
• Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

Job Role: As a Planning Lead, you will play a pivotal role on a major South London tunnelling and power infrastructure project valued at approximately £1 billion. This Planning Lead position is responsible for developing, maintaining and interrogating detailed construction programmes across complex tunnelling, shaft and underground infrastructure works.

The successful Planning Lead will convert contract requirements, design information, temporary works, procurement activities and construction methodologies into a practical, fully resourced programme. You will gather progress information from engineering teams, subcontractors and site management, monitor performance against programme milestones and identify delays, risks and interface issues before they impact project delivery.

Working closely with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders, the Planning Lead will assess compensation events, model the impact of change, recommend recovery strategies and provide accurate programme reporting to support successful project outcomes. This Planning Lead role requires a strong understanding of how programme logic, construction sequencing and commercial entitlement interact within major infrastructure projects.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• HNC in a construction-related discipline or extensive civil engineering contracting experience
• Proven experience within tunnelling and ground engineering environments
• Previous planning experience across both tender and live project delivery stages
• Ability to develop, resource, update and analyse detailed construction programmes
• Strong understanding of the relationship between programme, progress, change management and cost
• Experience programming and assessing compensation events
• Competent user of industry planning software
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office
• Ability to coordinate design teams, temporary works, subcontractors, construction and commercial stakeholders
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject expertise
• NEC3 or NEC4 programme management experience
• Experience obtaining acceptance of programmes under NEC contracts
• Schedule risk analysis and quantitative risk assessment experience
• Earned Value Management or broader project controls experience
• Delivery experience on power, rail, water, shaft, TBM, sprayed concrete lining or other major underground infrastructure projects
• Team leadership, mentoring or line management experience
