Plant Inspector in Leiston, East Of England

VGC Group are currently recruiting for a Plant Inspector to join our team on a major project in Leiston, Suffolk.

The Plant Inspector is responsible for providing inspection services across a range of plant equipment and accessories. They will document accordingly and report all findings inline with company processes, ensuring site remains compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
To carry out inspections Accessories and Plant equipment under both PUWER and LOLER regulations.
Provide support and advice to the maintenance and delivery teams
Ensure all records are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner
Ensure no equipment expired its statutory inspection time on site
All discovered defects are recorded and reported immediately to the relevant persons
All reports of inspections are passed to the maintenance team no later than 7 days of completion

The successful candidate will have:

Knowledge and Skills-
- Logical and well organised
- Numerate, Literate and accurate
-Good IT skills- Word and Excel
- An understanding of GMAO
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work proactively when under pressure


Qualifications and Experience-
- NVQ Level 2 or above Plant Maintenance (equivalent qualifications maybe accepted).
- NVQ Level 2 or above Plant Operations - Cranes and Specialist Lifting (equivalent qualifications maybe accepted).
- Maintenance or engineering qualifications NVQ level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent is preferred but not essential (Would consider applicants that do not hold the essential qualifications but have significant experience in the field).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in relevant discipline (MEWP maintenance and LOLER inspection).
- Full UK clean driving license
- CSCS General Operative
- CITB Plant Examiners course.

- CITB Plant Inspection - Test & inspection or maintenance experience of general plant equipment & MEWPS is preferred but not essential (this includes forklifts, telehandlers, excavators and MEWP categories IPAF 3a & 3b)
- UK major construction / industrial experience
- Experience of working on similar system in civil engineering projects
