Offering a competitive rate of £26.00 per hour, this ongoing locum opportunity provides the perfect platform to utilise your mental health expertise within a challenging yet highly rewarding environment.

Working four days per week, Tuesday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00, totalling 38 hours per week, you'll enjoy the benefit of a long weekend every week while making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals within the prison system.

What you will do

  • Deliver high-quality mental health care within a prison environment, promoting wellbeing and safety.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and formulate individualised care plans.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of the prison population.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated and holistic care.
  • Support the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals by promoting positive mental health outcomes.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and review treatment plans to ensure effective and responsive care.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and crisis intervention when required.
  • Support service users in developing coping strategies and improving emotional wellbeing.
