Do you have experience supporting people with complex mental health needs to build independence and confidence? Are you ready to take on a senior care role where you can guide colleagues and help a small rehabilitation service run well?
Making Space is a values-led health and social care charity supporting people across local communities. We are now looking for a Senior Recovery Worker to join our Lancashire Supported Living Rehabilitation Service, Inspiring Minds, in Burnley.
The role
As a Senior Recovery Worker, you will provide recovery-focused support to adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autistic people. The service offers short-term functional rehabilitation in a 9-bed setting, helping people work towards greater independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.
This is a permanent, part-time role with 28- and 35-hour contracts available. Some weekend working and sleep-in shifts are required. Sleep-in shifts are paid separately.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred, recovery-focused support.
- Offer information, advice and guidance to service users.
- Support people to access employment, volunteering, health, leisure, wellbeing and education opportunities.
- Promote independence, recovery and social inclusion.
- Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the service.
- Administer medication in line with agreed procedures.
- Supervise colleagues and delegate tasks where needed.
- Make sure values-based support is delivered to a high standard.

The person
- You will have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this.
- You will also need experience in a mental health setting, including supporting people with complex needs and people who self-harm. Previous experience of administering medication, leading shifts and working in care is essential.
