What you will do:

  • Case Management: Manage a complex caseload, providing statutory intervention and support to children and families.

  • Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and associated legislation.

  • Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review effective support plans that promote positive outcomes for children and families.

  • Safeguarding: Lead Section 47 enquiries and make informed decisions to safeguard children and reduce risk.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain high-quality, accurate, and timely case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.

  • Court Work: Prepare detailed court reports, attend hearings, and work closely with Legal Services to support proceedings.

  • Strategy Meetings: Participate in strategy discussions, case planning meetings, and legal planning forums.

  • Mentoring: Support and mentor newly qualified and less experienced social workers, promoting a culture of learning and development.

  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with schools, health professionals, police, and partner agencies to coordinate effective support for children and families.

  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to audits, service improvement initiatives, and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of practice.
