What you will do:
- Act as Nurse in Charge, providing visible clinical leadership and overseeing the daily operational management of the unit.
- Manage staff allocation, skill mix, coordinate patient flow, admissions, discharges, and medivac transfers.
- Work closely with on-call doctors to ensure timely patient assessments and treatment.
- Implement quality assurance initiatives and develop action plans in response to audits or incidents.
- Promote adherence to organisational policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements, fostering a positive working environment.
- Support and mentor new starters, contribute to staff development and performance management.
- Undertake assessment of complex patient needs, developing specialised care programmes.
- Promote patient involvement in care planning, ensuring dignity and respect.

Requirements:
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Evidenced application of HSC's CARE Values
- Proven relevant CPD
- Strong communication skills with a calm and diplomatic approach to complex situations
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- Adaptability to changing service needs
- Capability to manage stress and provide support to others
