Social Work Manager – Children’s Social Care

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Work Manager to join a Children’s Social Care service in Middlesbrough on a temporary contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Social Work Manager to provide leadership, oversight, and operational management within a busy Children’s Social Care team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality safeguarding practice, service delivery, and positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and social care professionals within Children’s Services.
• Provide professional supervision, performance management, and development support to staff.
• Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, safeguarding procedures, and Children’s Social Care legislation.
• Monitor casework quality and ensure timely assessments, care planning, and interventions.
• Support service improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving performance targets.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including education, health, police, and other safeguarding professionals.
• Manage complex cases and provide guidance on high-risk safeguarding matters.
• Promote best practice and ensure services are child-centred and outcome-focused.
• Contribute to strategic planning and operational decision-making within the service.

Applicant Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Significant experience within Children’s Social Care.
• Previous experience in a Team Manager, Social Work Manager, Practice Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, looked after children, and statutory social work practice.
• Experience supervising and supporting social work teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced Children’s Services environment.
