What you will do:

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people in Birmingham, delivering top-tier services
• Manage a complex caseload, meeting all legislative requirements and ensuring each child or young person's needs are addressed
• Collect, record, and analyse information using management systems, ensuring actions taken fulfil statutory responsibilities
• Conduct thorough assessments for children in need of protection, creating and monitoring plans involving multi-agency partners
• Lead proactive, timely meetings that focus on the child or young person's needs, wishes, and feelings
• Collaborate with professionals and agencies to ensure a seamless 'joined-up' approach
• Prepare and present reports to relevant conferences, courts, and panels
• Support the Team Manager and engage in team meetings to contribute positively to the team's objectives

Essential qualifications:

• Approved social work qualification with registration from Social Work England (SWE)
• Significant experience with vulnerable children and families and liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies
• Current knowledge of professional social work practices and key legislation
• Ability to communicate effectively in various formats and work collaboratively with diverse teams
