What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of children and families, performing assessments and interventions in line with Sections 17 and 47 of the Children Act 1989.

  • Develop, implement, and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans, ensuring that they are outcome-focused and regularly updated.

  • Engage in direct work with children and families to assess risk, build meaningful relationships, and support long-lasting change.

  • Lead safeguarding activities, such as strategy discussions, core groups, and child protection conferences, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.

  • Prepare thorough reports for statutory reviews, legal planning meetings, and court proceedings when required.

  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including Police, Health, Education, and Early Help services, for a comprehensive approach to child welfare.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).

Completion of ASYE or relevant post-qualifying experience in children's services.

Registration & Compliance:

Registered with Social Work England.

Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and safeguarding procedures.

Understanding the Public Law Outline (PLO) and court processes is desirable but not essential for this role.
