What you will do

• As Practice Lead within the Quality Assurance and Learning Academy, undertake quality assurance audits and a moderation process on a monthly basis.
• Execute individual audit assignments to provide independent assurance on governance, risk, and internal control effectiveness, aligning with Ofsted frameworks.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports that highlight significant findings and recommend effective solutions for identified issues.
• Plan and execute work plans, ensuring timely delivery and performance target achievement.
• Develop robust working relationships across service areas, improving communication and cooperation.
• Conduct investigative work on isolated cases to evaluate decision-making effectiveness regarding child and family outcomes, and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Innovatively audit current and historical practices to inform policy development and improvements.
• Respond to both planned and short-notice audit requirements, recommending service or case investigation improvements.
• Provide support and advice on operational risk management, assisting services in identifying key risks and offering audit workshops.
• Offer constructive feedback on audit-identified risks, supporting managerial levels in managing them effectively.
• Monitor and report on an overall improvement programme post-inspections.
• Use social work practice experience to interpret and analyse audit results.
• Develop and deliver training for staff, evaluating the outcomes and ensuring quality interventions are maintained.
• Innovatively apply SOS and Restorative Practice models, supporting their implementation and staff development.
• Develop, implement, and communicate policy updates and training strategies to enhance staff and partner agency knowledge.
• Mentor and coach teams to embrace new practices and adapt creatively to evolving expectations.
• Optimise council resources and contribute to service improvement initiatives, ensuring value for money and budget management.
• Lead organisational transformation efforts to maximise benefits and efficiencies, promoting self-service for cost-effectiveness.
