Sustainability Manager in London, London

We’re partnered with a Tier 1 contractor who are looking for a Sustainability Manager to take a key role in shaping and delivering sustainability across high-profile projects.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply sit behind a desk reporting on targets. You’ll be out in front, influencing project teams, engaging with clients and subcontractors, leading workshops and finding innovative ways to turn sustainability ambitions into tangible results.

You’ll be trusted to take ownership, manage your own diary and operate with real autonomy - while working closely with design teams, project leaders, clients and supply-chain partners to drive sustainability from pre-construction through to delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the Sustainability Agenda – Take ownership of sustainability delivery across projects, providing clear guidance and ensuring ambitious project targets are translated into meaningful action.
• Bring People Together – Facilitate engaging workshops with project teams, designers, subcontractors and wider stakeholders, making sustainability practical, relevant and achievable.
• Influence & Challenge – Work closely with clients, design teams, project teams and supply-chain partners, confidently providing sustainability insight, feedback and solutions through regular meetings and project reviews.
• Drive Innovation – Look beyond the obvious to identify opportunities for carbon reduction, circular economy, low-carbon alternatives and smarter ways of delivering sustainability outcomes.
• Own Your Impact – Manage your own diary and priorities autonomously, while monitoring performance, gathering data and evidence, and driving continuous improvement across your projects.

Who they’re looking for:

• A Sustainability Specialist – Excellent technical sustainability knowledge with experience across both pre-construction and project delivery, particularly around carbon and environmental certifications.
• A Natural Influencer – Someone with the personality and confidence to engage everyone from site teams and subcontractors through to senior project leaders and clients - and bring them along on the journey.
• A Workshop Leader – Comfortable standing in front of a room, facilitating discussions, challenging thinking and turning complex sustainability requirements into clear, actionable outcomes.
• A Creative Problem Solver – You won’t just follow a checklist. They’re looking for someone who can think outside the box, spot opportunities and use innovation to push sustainability further.
• An Autonomous Operator – Organised, proactive and capable of taking ownership of your workload and projects.
