The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £48,587 per annum. Main duties: To care manage the most complex cases in care group.Plan, carry out review and evaluate  social work practice.To assume responsibility within the care group for research and development, including keeping team updated, and contributing to the development of service provision/organisation.Assess needs thoroughly and to a good standard – analysing risk and developing integrated multi agency safeguarding plans in line with Working Together 2015.Involve children (age appropriate in a child centred way), young people, families, carers, groups and partner agencies in all meetings, which may affect them and listen actively to what they have to say. Signposting for advocacy support if needed or wanted.Recognise the expertise of individuals, children, families, carers, groups, individuals and partner agencies about their own circumstances, position and have regard for their wishes and feelings.Maintain professional standards of contact with children, young people, parents/carers, families, other professionals and voluntary agencies.Work with individuals, young people, families, carers to develop and/or maintain independence, including involving individuals, children (age appropriate in a child centred way) young people, families, carers, groups and partner agencies to support groups and networks and support them in extending their involvement.To manage and be accountable with supervision and support for your own social work practice.Keep children, young people, families, carers, groups, individuals and partner agencies about updated about what steps you are going to take.Build honest relationships based on clear communication and make sure all involved understand what will happen with the information children, young people, families, carers, groups and partner agencies give to a social worker.Work effectively with others, understand what information other parties can families, carers, groups and partner agencies.Work closely with other agencies within the community, both statutory and voluntary in support of preventative strategies. The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £44,428 per annum. Main duties: Take professional responsibility for managing a complex caseload which will include individuals, children, carers and families who require support and guidance.Demonstrate confident and effective judgement about risk in decision-making and be able to sustain engagement with fluctuating circumstances and capacities, including where there is hostility and risk.Use assessment procedures discerningly in response to the presenting needs and to ensure that a proportionate assessment is completed in a way that enables maximum participation.Use professional judgement, employing a range of interventions: promoting independence, providing support and protection, taking preventative action and ensuring safety whilst balancing rights and risks.Take the lead in managing positive interventions that prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing whilst safeguarding people at risk of abuse or neglect. Undertake assessment and planning for safeguarding in more complex cases, and support colleagues by utilising safeguarding skills, in line with current policies and procedures.Play a leading role in practice development, help promote and sustain a learning culture and mentor less experienced staff.Deliver formal professional reflective supervision and provide guidance and advice regarding casework to less experienced qualified staff.Where required, take the role of practice educator (or train as a practice educator) for students and the role of ASYE assessor and supervisor for newly qualified social workers in the team.As part of the supervision and appraisal process provide support with personal and professional development.Share and present professional knowledge and expertise to colleagues within the team and with other partners.Take professional and personal responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements, maintaining up to date case work records on the database as required.Take responsibility for working within the Directorate’s data protection polices. Requirements of the Senior Practitioner: CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work of equivalent professional qualification.Management qualification at least at Level 4.At least 1 years’ experience of supervising professional staff.Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job’s responsibilities.
