What you will do
- Support the Team Manager in the effective management of the Looked After Children (CLA) team.
- Provide supervision, professional guidance, and support to social workers and support staff.
- Oversee complex cases involving children in care, ensuring robust care planning and timely reviews.
- Lead on permanence planning including adoption, fostering, and Special Guardianship Orders (SGOs).
- Ensure high‑quality assessments, care plans, and the completion of statutory visits.
- Act as deputy to the Team Manager when required, maintaining continuity and service stability.
- Monitor team performance, manage caseloads, and ensure compliance with key performance indicators.
- Participate in strategy meetings, care planning forums, and placement stability discussions.
- Ensure adherence to legislation including the Children Act 1989 & 2004 and Care Planning Regulations.
- Work collaboratively with Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs), foster carers, providers, and partner agencies across health and education.
