Job Purpose:
• To support diagnostic and laboratory services within the Histopathology department
• To deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality laboratory work that contributes directly to patient diagnosis and care
• To work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary pathology team in line with professional and regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform embedding, microtomy, and associated quality control procedures
• Prepare, assess, and process histopathology samples to a high standard for diagnostic purposes
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting in line with laboratory protocols
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and turnaround times
• Adhere strictly to health and safety policies, infection control measures, and laboratory best practice

Essential Requirements:
• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• Experience working within a Histopathology laboratory environment
• Competence in embedding and microtomy techniques
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
