Role overview:
As a Band 5 Staff Nurse within the Surgical Unit, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced acute environment. You will play a key role in patient recovery, contribute to safe and effective ward management, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.

What you will do:

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care within a surgical ward

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care plans

• Support and mentor junior staff, enhancing both team development and leadership skills

• Contribute to effective ward organisation and patient flow

• Maintain high standards of safety, documentation, and professional practice

• Work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Essential requirements:

• Current NMC registration

• Recent experience in acute or surgical wards

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

• Strong communication and organisational skills
