Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 Paediatric Echocardiographer to join a highly regarded Paediatric Team within IMGL in London. This is an ongoing full-time locum position offering an excellent hourly rate of £52.

This role offers the chance to work in a specialist paediatric cardiology environment where clinical excellence, child-focused care, and professional collaboration are at the heart of the service. You will be working with children and young people with congenital and acquired heart conditions, using your advanced echocardiography skills to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

What You Will Do

• Perform and independently report paediatric echocardiograms, including congenital and acquired heart disease.

• Cover outpatient paediatric echocardiography lists, ensuring high-quality, child-centred diagnostic assessments.

• Participate in inpatient paediatric echo ward rounds, supporting timely and accurate clinical decision-making.

• Work closely with the Paediatrician with Expertise in Cardiology (PEC) and the wider multidisciplinary team.

• Deliver high standards of patient care, safety, and clinical governance.

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation and reports.

• Support service delivery and contribute to service development where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• HCPC registration.

• EACVI accreditation in Echocardiography for Congenital Heart Disease (or equivalent).

• Proven experience performing paediatric echocardiography independently.

• Strong knowledge of congenital and paediatric cardiac conditions.

• Ability to work confidently in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

• Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with children and families.

• High standards of professionalism, accuracy, and patient-focused care.

Desirable

• Previous experience working in a specialist paediatric cardiology service.

• Experience working within tertiary or specialist cardiac centres.
