An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Acute and A&E Team at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen, Wales. You will support early intervention pathways, facilitate complex discharges, and deliver specialist OT assessments and interventions within an acute clinical environment. Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do

• Deliver specialist OT assessments and interventions for:
  • Frail and elderly patients
  • Stroke patients
  • Individuals with respiratory conditions
• Support early intervention to reduce hospital admissions and improve patient flow.
• Lead and manage complex discharge planning for vulnerable patients.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Develop personalised, evidence‑based treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on recovery, rehabilitation, and safe discharge processes.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in accordance with professional standards.

Requirements / Candidate Criteria

Essential

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.
• Experience in acute, A&E, frailty, stroke, or respiratory OT pathways.
• Valid driving licence (travel required between sites).
• Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and documentation skills.

Desirable

• Prior experience within Welsh NHS services.
• Familiarity with early intervention, discharge planning, and rapid response pathways.
