Job Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care Team in Bury St Edmunds on an ongoing locum basis. This role offers the chance to deliver vital front-line occupational therapy services, supporting adults to maintain independence while ensuring safe and effective care provision within the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective and timely occupational therapy services across the Adult Social Care directorate

• Support triage processes to reduce duplication between health and social care services and minimise waiting lists

• Provide guidance to external care providers to ensure safe moving and handling practices

• Undertake reviews of care packages to ensure effective use of resources and equipment

• Review double-handed care packages and contribute to reassessment of waking night and other support arrangements

• Provide mutual support across occupational therapy teams where service demand requires

• Complete comprehensive OT assessments and reviews within required timescales

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with professional standards

Person Specification
Essential

• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist

• Experience working within Adult Social Care or community settings

• Strong assessment, organisational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for assessments

Desirable

• Previous local authority experience

• Knowledge of moving and handling legislation and equipment provision
