Role Overview

A fantastic locum opportunity is now available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care (ASC) Team in Suffolk. This full‑time hybrid role offers a competitive hourly rate of £35 and provides the perfect balance of office and home‑based working. You will play a vital role in delivering essential OT services across the directorate, focusing on timely assessments, reducing duplication in health and social care, and streamlining OT waiting lists.

Working across multiple sites, you will support care providers, conduct reviews of complex care packages, and contribute to safe, effective service delivery within a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do

  • Deliver safe, timely, front‑line occupational therapy interventions across the ASC directorate.
  • Support triage processes, helping reduce duplication between health and social care.
  • Assist external care providers to ensure correct moving and handling practices.
  • Complete reviews of care packages to ensure value for money and effective use of equipment.
  • Review double‑handed care packages, waking night provision, and other specialist arrangements.
  • Provide mutual aid across OT teams when required.
  • Conduct prompt, high‑quality OT assessments and reviews in accordance with service standards.

Requirements / Candidate Criteria

Essential

  • HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a relevant OT specialism.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites as needed.

Desirable

  • Driving licence preferred for travel across Suffolk.
  • Experience working within adult social care or community OT settings.
