Location: Cardiff (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £29.34 PAYE / £38.43 Umbrella per hour
Contract: 3 Months (Initial)
Hours: 37 hours per week (09:00–17:00)
Start Date: ASAP
Seven Resourcing are recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join a busy and supportive Children & Families Team in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner with strong experience in child protection, court work, and safeguarding, looking to join a well-established team that offers strong management support and professional development.
The Role
You will be part of a dynamic East Locality team managing a varied caseload, including Child Protection (CP), Children in Need (CIN), Public Law Outline (PLO), and court proceedings.
The team promotes a child-centred approach, working to improve outcomes, safety, and wellbeing for children and families across the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload involving CP, CIN, PLO, and court work
- Complete assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with statutory requirements
- Prepare high-quality court reports and attend legal proceedings
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
- Build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
- Contribute to risk assessments and safeguarding decisions
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training
Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years post-qualification experience
- Strong background in child protection and court work
- Registered with Social Care Wales (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS
Desirable:
- Experience working within a local authority children’s services team
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding frameworks
Working Environment
- Hybrid working available, with a requirement to attend the office regularly
- Supportive and experienced management team, including long-standing Team Manager and Principal Social Worker
- Additional support from a second PSW focused on court work
- Regular monthly supervision and ongoing training opportunities
