What you will do:
- Serve as an experienced and confident presence in the Neonatal Unit, capable of working independently
- Attend deliveries and initiate resuscitation efforts alongside the medical team
- Provide expert care for all levels of sick neonates, often with minimal support
- Support junior staff and parents, offering guidance and reassurance
- Participate in regular scenario training, occasionally leading sessions
- Accompany midwives on transfers and maintain proficiency through off-island placements
- Lend occasional support to Frossard ward in caring for paediatric patients

Main duties:
- Maintain professional accountability and work within the NMC Code of Conduct
- Conduct assessments and plan, implement, and evaluate personalised care for neonates in collaboration with their families
- Assist competently in resuscitation and stabilisation in the labour ward
- Advocate for children and their families to ensure appropriate information and support
- Manage a defined group of patients, guiding and advising other staff in patient care
- Lead teams in emergency and acute situations, offering support to patients and their families
- Use a range of data to identify patient issues and guide decision-making, requesting clinical tests when necessary
- Encourage service user involvement while respecting their wishes, beliefs, and dignity
- Foster open and trusting communication with service users, the multidisciplinary team, and other involved agencies

Essential requirements:
- Registered Children's Nurse or RN Child/RGN, with NMC registration
- Diploma or degree in a related field
- EMB 405 or equivalent qualification
- NLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in neonatal nursing
