Role Overview / Job Summary:
As a Senior Social Work Practitioner within the Bridlington Locality Team, you will deliver high-quality, child-centred social work practice. The role involves managing complex cases, providing professional leadership, and supporting the development of less experienced practitioners. Your work will play a key role in maintaining robust safeguarding practices and achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

What you will do:

  • Manage a complex caseload including Children in Need, Child Protection, Public Law Outline (PLO), and care proceedings.

  • Complete high-quality assessments, risk analysis, and care planning to safeguard children and promote wellbeing.

  • Lead safeguarding enquiries and participate in child protection conferences and core group meetings.

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and supervision to Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs).

  • Support management with case direction, decision-making, and quality assurance.

  • Lead and contribute to PLO processes, prepare analytical court reports, and attend court hearings.

  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including police, health, education, and legal services.

  • Participate in audits, learning reviews, and service improvement initiatives.

Person Specification / Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work (BA / MA / DipSW).

  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE) is essential.

  • Significant post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care, including complex casework and court proceedings.

  • Experience in a Senior Practitioner or Advanced Social Worker role is desirable but not essential.
