What you will do:
- Provide line management for front-line operational services and ensure excellent case management for vulnerable adults.
- Undertake casework, especially in exceptionally complex situations, with service users and carers.
- Drive improvements in practice and work standards through the application of specialised knowledge and skills.
- Lead on delivering safe services, including investigating, chairing, and reviewing adult safeguarding episodes as necessary.
- Manage a team of social workers, assessors, and support staff, acting as deputy for the Team Manager when required.
- Develop imaginative strategies to implement local and national policies like self-directed care.
- Promote anti-discriminatory practices and support council policy.

Requirements:
- Extensive understanding of MHA, MCA, Care Act legislation, case law, particularly for adults with mental health issues.
- Strong grasp of supervision principles, effective management techniques, and IT application.
- Experience applying knowledge of key legislations and guidance related to adults with mental health challenges.
- Experience working with a multicultural adult client group in a statutory or relevant voluntary agency setting.
- Desirably, have experience of line managing staff with excellent supervision skills.
- Degree, Dip SW or equivalent in Social Work, AMHP qualification and Social Work England registration required.
