Location: Argyll & Bute (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £45 per hour
Contract: Temporary / Agency
Working Pattern: Hybrid working with a condensed 4-day week available if preferred
Seven Resourcing are recruiting an experienced Social Work Team Manager – Children’s Services to join a statutory children’s social care service in Argyll & Bute. The Role – Children’s Social Care Team Manager
As a Social Work Team Manager within Children’s Services, you will provide professional leadership and operational management to a team delivering statutory children’s social work services. You will ensure high standards of practice, compliance with legislation, and positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.
You will play a key role in child protection, safeguarding, care planning, and service development while working closely with multi-agency partners including education, health, and the third sector.
Key Responsibilities – Social Work Team Manager

Manage and supervise a team of social workers and practitioners within Children’s Services

Provide professional oversight of complex child protection and safeguarding cases

Ensure compliance with children’s legislation, policy, and statutory guidance

Oversee assessments, care planning, reviews, and court-related work

Allocate workloads and manage team performance effectively

Support staff development through supervision, mentoring, and appraisal

Contribute to audits, inspections, and continuous service improvement

Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and young people

Maintain robust risk management, decision-making, and quality assurance processes
Requirements

Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

Substantial post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Work

Proven experience as a Social Work Team Manager or Senior Practitioner within Children’s Services

Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and statutory children’s legislation

Confident leadership, supervision, and decision-making skills

Ability to work effectively within a hybrid and flexible working model
