What You Will Do

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and complex needs, ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice.

• Undertake statutory assessments in line with the Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, and the SEND Code of Practice.

• Complete and review Child and Family Assessments and care plans, and contribute to safeguarding investigations where required.

• Develop, implement, and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans.

• Undertake direct work with children and young people using strengths-based and child-focused approaches.

• Work closely with families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, holistic support.

• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, and reviews.

• Prepare high-quality reports for court, panels, and statutory meetings as required.

• Support and coordinate transition planning for young people moving into adult services.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with Knowsley’s policies and procedures.

• Uphold professional standards in accordance with Social Work England and local authority requirements.

• Actively participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.
