What You Will Do

Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and complex needs, ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice.

Undertake statutory assessments in line with the Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, and the SEND Code of Practice.

Complete and review Child and Family Assessments and care plans, and contribute to safeguarding investigations where required.

Develop, implement, and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans.

Undertake direct work with children and young people using strengths-based and child-focused approaches.

Work closely with families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, holistic support.

Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection Conferences, Core Groups, and reviews.

Prepare high-quality reports for court, panels, and statutory meetings as required.

Support and coordinate transition planning for young people moving into adult services.

Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with Knowsley’s policies and procedures.

Uphold professional standards in accordance with Social Work England and local authority requirements.

Actively participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development.
