What You Will Do

  • Assess Kinship Foster Carers and Special Guardians on behalf of the Directorate.

  • Undertake viability assessments for proposed Kinship carers and Special Guardians.

  • Participate in a duty rota for Regulation 24 assessments.

  • Complete complex assessment reports for fostering panels and court proceedings.

  • Ensure high-quality care planning that meets the specific needs of children.

  • Attend LAC Reviews, Permanency Planning meetings, court hearings, and safeguarding meetings as required.

  • Manage your allocated workload of assessments in line with Directorate priorities and timescales.

  • Ensure children’s needs, wishes, and feelings are central to all assessment and planning work.

  • Work in partnership with internal and external agencies to support planned interventions and service provision.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with Ealing’s procedures.

  • Engage in continuous professional development and training activities.

  • Contribute to the support and development of social work students.
