Job Title: Locum Social Worker - Children's Services

What you will do:
- Carry a complex mixed caseload of children in various circumstances including Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children.
- Aim to achieve positive outcomes for children and their families and devise plans that address their identified needs.
- Assess and manage risks using an evidence-based approach and monitor, review, and update plans effectively.
- Utilise social work tools, practice, and research to underpin interventions, ensuring the welfare of the child is paramount.
- Work directly with children, young people, and their families at the point of crisis, promoting stability and effective interventions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with service users, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Apply locally agreed thresholds for intervention, managing cases appropriately and recording in line with statutory agency requirements.
- Offer coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues, modelling good practice within the team.
- Engage proactively with personal continuous professional development and participate in practice improvement initiatives.
- Operate within the standards recommended by the social work regulator concerning standards, performance, and ethics.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in social work along with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant frontline experience within the UK working as a qualified Social Worker in Social Services.
