Are you a Russell Group STEM graduate ready to channel your academic excellence into something genuinely impactful?

Do you thrive on intellectual challenge and want to work in a school where high achievement is the standard, not the exception?

Are you looking for a prestigious, career-defining role that can launch you into elite teacher training or leadership in education?

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre STEM graduate to join a top-performing secondary school in North London. This role is tailored for ambitious individuals from leading universities who are considering a future in teaching and want to gain elite-level school experience before taking the next step.

About the School

This is a highly regarded, oversubscribed secondary school known for its outstanding academic outcomes and aspirational culture. Students consistently achieve excellent GCSE and A-Level results, particularly across STEM subjects, placing the school well above national benchmarks.

With a recent Ofsted grading recognising strong leadership, teaching quality, and student progress, the school has become a hub for ambitious graduates looking to begin their careers in education. The ethos here is simple: excellence, ambition, and opportunity.

The STEM departments are exceptionally well-resourced and led by inspiring practitioners who are passionate about nurturing both students and future educators. The school has a proven track record of supporting graduates into salaried teacher training routes, often within the school itself.

The Role

As a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching across Maths, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology
  • Work closely with high-achieving students aiming for top university placements
  • Deliver targeted academic support through 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Assist in stretching and challenging gifted and talented pupils
  • Contribute to a culture of academic excellence within the classroom

This is not a passive role — you will be fully immersed in the academic life of the school, gaining exposure to outstanding teaching practices and high-level student engagement.

What We’re Looking For

  • A 2:1 or First-Class degree in a STEM subject (Russell Group or top university preferred)
  • Strong academic background (A-Level grades to reflect subject strength)
  • A genuine interest in education and developing young minds
  • Confidence, intellectual curiosity, and a professional mindset
  • Aspiration to progress into teaching or educational leadership

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Work in a high-performing, academically driven school environment
  • Gain experience that will position you strongly for top-tier teacher training programmes
  • Competitive salary of £25,000+ or £111 per day
  • Immediate start available or secure a September role early
  • Join a network of like-minded, high-achieving graduates

If you’re a driven STEM graduate looking for more than just a job — if you want a role that challenges, develops, and accelerates your career — this is your opportunity.
