Main duties: Holding a mixture of cases including complex cases.To investigate complaints of alleged neglect, abuse, or ill-treatment of children, undertake assessments and, where appropriate, arrange accommodation for children, young people, maintaining appropriate personal/professional boundaries.Work with children and young people, families, carers, and communities to help them make informed decisions, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to service planning.Liaise with colleagues in own and other departments and external agencies in order to gather information relevant to assessment and care planning activities.To maintain an awareness of own professional limitations and knowledge gaps.To make effective use of supervision and appraisal as an opportunity to critically reflect on casework and to identify learning and development needs to continually improve upon practice, and to support CPD.To demonstrate the standards of proficiency as required by the HCPC in order to maintain registration.To work within the organisation’s professional policy and procedures and code of conduct.To be a Social Worker for Achieving for Children you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. JOB-20241107-791d94d2Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Support & Safeguarding Pods Team to work full time for Achieving for Children, based in Windsor & Maidenhead.The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £47,798 per annum. Main duties: The Social Worker will be based in the Support and Safeguarding Pods.As the allocated Social Worker, they will manage a caseload of children who may be subject to child protection plans, child in need plans, children in care plans and including children subject to care proceedings.They will undertake visits to children and families and complete assessments and direct work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.Other duties may include, having strategy discussions (open cases), safety planning, attending child protection conferences, children in care reviews and child in need reviews.Allocated social workers will also investigate concerns regarding a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, make an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action.A key part of the role entails building effective relationships with children and families and working collaboratively with our partner agencies.
