Job Purpose: Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy to children and young people with a wide range of developmental, physical, sensory, and functional needs. You will work across community, clinic, and educational settings, supporting each child’s participation in daily life and helping them reach their full potential. What You Will Do: Conduct detailed assessments in home, school, and community settings to identify individual needs. Develop and implement goal-oriented treatment plans using evidence-based approaches. Provide specialist advice and training to parents, carers, and school staff. Collaborate with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, and medical staff to ensure joined-up care. Recommend and advise on specialist equipment, adaptations, and environmental modifications. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HCPC and local policies. Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and service reviews. Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff and students. Participate in service evaluations and quality improvement initiatives. Person Specification: Essential: Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy. HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist. Minimum 18 months’ post-qualification experience with children or young people. Experience working within multidisciplinary or multi-agency teams. Desirable: Postgraduate training in Sensory Integration or handwriting interventions. Experience in community or educational settings. Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development and neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. ASD, ADHD). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritise workload and manage a varied caseload. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Why Redbridge?
