What You Will Do Undertake statutory safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014 from referral through to outcome. Carry out proportionate, risk-based enquiries and develop robust protection plans. Apply the Making Safeguarding Personal approach, keeping adults’ wishes, views, and outcomes central. Complete safeguarding risk assessments, mental capacity assessments, and where required, best interest decisions. Coordinate multi-agency safeguarding responses with health, police, housing, care providers, and advocacy services. Develop, implement, and review safeguarding plans that reduce risk while promoting independence. Produce high-quality, defensible records, reports, and chronologies. Participate in strategy meetings, safeguarding meetings, and case conferences. Contribute to learning reviews, audits, and service improvement activities. Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with Staffordshire procedures. Engage fully in supervision, training, and continuous professional development. What We’re Looking For Essential Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England. Experience working in Adult Social Care within a statutory setting. Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Section 42 safeguarding, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Proven ability to manage complex safeguarding cases, assess risk, and make defensible decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to strengths-based, anti-discriminatory practice. Desirable Experience working in a specialist safeguarding or enquiry team.
