Pay Rate:PAYE: £31.06 per hour or Umbrella: £41.58 per hour

About the Role

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an experienced Children’s Assistant Team Manager (Enhanced Social Worker) to join a busy Children’s Social Care service in Wrexham. This is a short-term opportunity ideal for a confident and capable leader who can step in and provide immediate support while permanent recruitment is underway.

You will play a key role in managing a pod of Social Workers, ensuring high-quality safeguarding practice and delivering effective services to children and families in need of intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a pod of Social Workers handling Section 47 enquiries, assessments, and interventions
• Oversee cases progressing through court proceedings and Public Law Outline (PLO) processes
• Provide supervision, guidance, and performance oversight to Social Workers within your team
• Support duty operations, including managing a duty pod on a rotational basis (every 3 weeks)
• Be office-based during duty weeks to ensure effective leadership and decision-making
• Provide management cover and additional support across teams when required
• Step in to support service continuity during periods of annual leave or absence

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Care Wales registration
• Significant post-qualified experience within Children’s Social Care
• Proven experience in a senior or management role, ideally as a Senior Practitioner or Assistant Team Manager
• Strong working knowledge of safeguarding, court processes, and PLO
• Ability to lead teams under pressure and make sound, timely decisions
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
