The Role – Graduate Trainee Teacher (Nutrition)
As a Graduate Trainee Teacher – Nutrition, you will train full-time in a London secondary school, supported by experienced mentors and specialist trainers.
You will:
- Teach Nutrition and Food Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to support related curriculum areas where appropriate.
- Gradually increase your teaching responsibility through a structured and supported training programme.
- Receive weekly pedagogical training focused on classroom practice and effective teaching strategies.
- Develop strong behaviour management and lesson delivery skills.
- Support practical food preparation and nutrition-based learning activities within the classroom.
- Work closely with experienced teachers and senior leaders.
- Be fully prepared to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within one academic year.

Ideal Candidate
- A 2:1 or above in Nutrition or a closely related degree (such as Food Science, Dietetics, or Health Sciences).
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or recognised equivalents).
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, health, and food education.
- A genuine commitment to working with young people and making a positive impact.
- Professional, resilient, and motivated to develop as a teacher.
- Right to work in the UK.
