A specialist engineering solutions business experiencing continued growth is seeking to appoint an HSE Advisor to strengthen its team. The role is focused on reducing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive, proactive health & safety culture

Key Responsibilities for the HSE Advisor

  • Promote a positive HSE culture through site engagement, toolbox talks, wellbeing initiatives, and clear communication, including leading H&S committee meetings.
  • Deliver and support HSE training, inductions, health surveillance, and internal competency assessments, ensuring consistent development across the workforce.
  • Lead risk management activities including risk assessments, COSHH support, PPE guidance, and compliance with all relevant H&S legislation.
  • Conduct audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis while maintaining accurate data, reporting on trends, and updating HSE information systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of HSE documentation, procedures, and customer pre‑qualification requirements.
  • Provide on‑site and contractor support through RAMS development, HSE inductions, supplier approval processes, and occasional site visits.
  • Carry out occupational health surveillance activities such as DSE, noise, and vibration assessments, working closely with the HSE Manager and other functional leads.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile for the HSE Advisor:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate
  • Background in HSE with a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a similar industry
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-driven and team player
  • Willingness and the thirst to continue to learn
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
