Location: Caerphilly (CF82 7PG)
Contract: Temporary (12 Weeks – Maternity Cover)
Hours: Full-Time, 37 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: £29.30 PAYE | £38.66 Umbrella

About the Role

Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting for a Qualified Children’s Social Worker to join a busy Children’s Services Team in Caerphilly. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner to work within a locality-based team, supporting children and families through assessment, care planning, and ongoing intervention.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in child protection, children in need, and statutory social work, who are confident managing cases from initial assessment through to long-term planning.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Case Management

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families requiring social services intervention
• Develop and implement effective care plans focused on positive outcomes
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring all work is completed within statutory timescales

Safeguarding & Intervention

• Work with children subject to child protection plans, children in need plans, and early intervention support
• Identify and manage risk, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children
• Regularly review cases and adapt plans to meet changing needs

Court & Professional Representation

• Prepare reports and represent the service in court proceedings and panel meetings
• Demonstrate high levels of professional competence in statutory social work practice

Multi-Agency Working

• Work collaboratively with health professionals, schools, police, and other agencies
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and safeguarding conferences
• Build strong relationships to support joined-up service delivery

Service Development

• Contribute to continuous improvement and service development initiatives
• Support best practice across the team and wider service

Requirements

To be considered for this Children’s Social Worker Job in Caerphilly, you must have:

• Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with current registration
• Experience within Children’s Social Care
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and statutory frameworks
• Experience completing assessments and managing care plans
• Ability to represent the service in court and professional settings
