What you will do:
- Act as a lead advisor on Child Protection issues within the Council and advise external agencies on best practices.
- Chair Child Protection Conferences and complex strategy meetings to promote child safety within a multi-agency framework.
- Perform quality assurance reviews to enhance child protection standards.
- Ensure safeguarding decisions align with legislation and guidelines such as the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Maximise the participation of parents and children by providing them with the necessary information and support.
- Promote multi-agency collaboration to improve the welfare and outcomes for children.
- Ensure the implementation of equal opportunity policies in service delivery and employment practices.
- Contribute to raising standards through the Child Protection and Safeguarding Team Service Plan.
- Conduct audits of children subject to Child Protection plans as needed.
- Keep precise electronic records and generate required documentation within specified timescales.
- Deliver training and participate in professional forums on child protection and safeguarding.
- Deputise for the Safeguarding, Review & Quality Assurance Manager when necessary.
- Address complaints in line with departmental policies and timelines.
