Role Purpose As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, you will deliver specialist nursing care to individuals with substance-use disorders within the criminal justice pathway. You will play a key role in assessment, risk management, treatment planning, harm reduction, and supporting service users through their recovery journey. What You Will Do Complete holistic assessments addressing physical, psychological, and social needs for service users with substance dependencies. Develop and review personalised, evidence-based care plans in partnership with service users and carers. Undertake risk assessments, mental health screening, and detoxification reviews. Deliver specialist interventions, including opioid substitution therapy assessments, detox planning, and structured harm reduction support. Provide BBV testing, vaccinations, overdose prevention advice, and safer injecting education. Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, working closely with partner agencies across health, social care, and criminal justice. Manage a defined caseload as care coordinator, ensuring continuity of care and effective multi-agency collaboration.
